2022 Convention Artist Survey

After running it annually for five years, I decided to end the Convention Artist Survey in early 2020 because it was taking way too much of my time. The survey data was also pretty consistent year-to-year, which made me less personally interested in the results. To answer some different questions, I did a artist census for 2020. Then COVID-19 happened, and I did a survey about that.

The convention scene has been slowly ramping back up since vaccinations became widely available, and this year, many shows that had been postponed in 2020 and 2021 finally had another event. Anecdotally, it seems like pent-up demand and saved up spending money has led to record sales across the board, but as always, I want the specifics and the numbers! Are all cons thriving in the post-(ish-)pandemic world, or are some struggling? Let’s find out!

The 2022 Convention Artist Survey will be accepting responses through January 15th, 2023. Many of the questions are the same as in prior years, but a number of COVID-specific questions were added.

Take the survey!

2022 Convention Artist Survey

I don’t know yet if the survey will return annually after this. Probably not? But we’ll see how things go. As always, thanks for your interest and participation!
