The backs of my karuta cards

So I started learning to play competitive karuta recently (maybe this was inevitable)…

Going to be playing with some more people soon and it turns out most of us have the same deck and need a way to make sure we don’t get our cards mixed up. I decided to doodle on the back of all my cards with something relevant to the poem.

I realised after the fact that it’s probably not a good idea for the card to be identifiable from the back in case of shuffling bias, but oh well. Don’t look while you shuffle, I guess? Anyway, almost all of the waka are about mountains or the moon or foliage or spurned lovers so any given poem probably isn’t that identifiable anyway.
