Coupla more noodle doodles.
Doggo sketches from a cafe recently.
Bunch of fuzz noodle studies.
Referenced photos by @bandizoi of her beautiful boys.
Various borzoi studies. Sometimes they look weird to me with eyes.
Some on location watercolor speedpaints while I was in Zhaoqing visiting family.
Most of these are quite a bit off since I was working pretty fast (30-45 minutes each) and couldn’t look both down at the paper and up at the scene at the same time. The bridge painting is also only half finished because I got rained on working on it, but I kinda like how it turned out anyway.
Also, I’m not used to painting outside in 100 F and max humidity…. it’s hard to paint when paint doesn’t dry. :’)
Tools: Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor travel set, (also squeezed in a bit of Daniel Smith Payne’s Gray before I left since the set doesn’t have a grey) Yasutomo Niji water brushes, some 03 tech pen, random flat brush, Strathmore 400 Series Watercolor paper in 5.5″ x 8.5″.
Lazy deer studies. Lateral view jawless deer skulls are weird looking.
Last of Sunday’s life drawing session. More “I’m too ADD for 25 minute poses.” For the reclining one, I went around the room getting different angles.
Went to a life drawing session for the first time in more than four years. It was nice. Will definitely be going back when I can.
These were all 2 minute poses.
Googled refs, “carrying a bike.”
Sometimes you get tired of putting heads on people.
Such great refs on this site, seriously.
Various refs from here.
As always the feeling of artistic stagnation is coupled with the thought “when was the last time I did studies.”
Various refs from here, which is a great resource site dang.
Googled “ballroom dancing” for refs. Then changed to “gay ballroom dancing” because I got tired of trying to guess where legs were under dresses. Then realized that that’s what I should have just googled in the first place since there’s only gonna be two people I ever wanna draw dancing anyway.
12 minutes, reference.
Need to experiment more, ughh.
~10 minutes, reference.
