A catch-all dumping ground for art, sketches, and miscellany.

Hisuian Zoroark

Hisuian Zoroark

I know vengefulness is among kitsune stereotypes, but it’s kind of a shame that Ninetales’s purported vengefulness was never highlighted much while Zoroark gets an entire alt form dedicated to the idea? Though I guess resentment isn’t quite the same as vengefulness. 🤔

Anyway, I really like Hisuian Zoroark’s design and don’t feel like I did it justice here, but it was nice to play around with the grey Tombow Fudenosuke for inking.

Examples from the Sketchmarker Brush review. After getting a small sets for a bunch of other recent marker reviews and having a selection of colors to play with, it was kinda hard to go back to my usual “just a few colors” strategy of justifying for-review purposes.

Drawings to test out the Newpen Ginza Pro brush pens.

Bunch of doodles and coloring samples from the ArtSkills double-ended Brush-tip Marker review. I usually only test a few singles of a marker, but it’s nice to have a few more colors to play with sometimes. Limited palette is always a nice exercise in experimentation and compromise. Pink is a decent stand-in for a grey as far as darkening other colors go.

NaNoWriMo 2021 cover

Wanted to doodle a cover for this year’s project since I think this is the closest I’ve ever come to the spirit of the event, despite 17 prior years participating. Didn’t have the energy for color though. I also still don’t really know what any of my characters look like either. I don’t really visualise much when I write…

It’s been so long since I’ve made new characters… that weird inconsistent stage where I’m still trying to figure out what they’re supposed to look like is kinda frustrating. Is this dude’s hair wavy or not? Is it white or blond? How long is it?? Everything is different every time I draw him, but I don’t know which is right.
