Historically, October 1st was NaNoWriMo website and forum reset day. This was back when NaNo wasn’t as active in the off season and the site had some ancient infrastructure that required annual purging of data to save on space and bandwidth. These days, NaNo is pretty much active yearround and its technical infrastructure was overhauled a few years ago, so the site no longer requires annual resets.
As such, October 1st isn’t as relevant anymore, but it’s still the day I aim to have these calendars finished by. Happy NaNo prep and panic month! And cheers to the photographers of the stock used in this year’s calendar: Zhen Hu, Trent Erwin, and Aaron Burden.
Kiku Portrait with Chrysanthemums
I inked this whole thing and then realised the pose is boring af, but whatever, come out this weekend!!
Punk Rock Flea Market returns!
First show in 19 months is outdoor only and will be under Seattle’s first substantial rainstorm in like 100 days, of course. But we’ll be there, rain or shine!

Drawings I did for the Moonman glass dip pen review, including some that didn’t make the review.
I was swapping the ink in my Kuretake #8 from the default black to a grey, but the transition was taking forever because there was still black ink in the brush and feed, so I did a bunch of doodles trying to clear it out.
Some process photos from this recent commission, as well as some natural light photos of the finished piece. Really happy with how it turned out. :o

Sketches from the Kuretake Karappo review, including one that didn’t make it into the post.
