Chrysanthemum stamp

Messing around with block printing in the form of stamp making. This is with a cool little kit Essdee makes.

I wish the discs were a bit thicker, but they’re definitely super soft and the blades cut more finely than I’d expect. The annoying thing about using the baren to “hold” the stamp is that you can’t use it as a baren at the same time, which makes burnishing the very center of the stamp harder.

Got some basic linocut supplies to play around with. Gone through a few iterations of refining this block and still want to do some adjustments, but it’s been a good learning experience.

I’ll probably write a proper blog post about this eventually, but in the meantime, random test prints will be included with orders of $25+ online and in person (see me this Sunday at Black Owl Market!) for as long as I have them.
