Renamon is easy to draw, so I think that’s why I’ve drawn more of her than any other Digimon? Also she is cool. And man, I really miss oekaki boards. :V
Full 2016 drawing is here.
I don’t feel that great about this year tbh, but it’s over, so onward we go…
Weird year.
I got back into painting this year, which was really nice. I also started inking traditionally a lot more and totally slacked on digital painting, which is… probably fine? Working digitally is a lot more tiring for me physically and coloring is especially taxing.
Not shown here, but I started playing around with calligraphy pens, which are really awesome even if I haven’t managed to write in anything other than gothic script.
I got more comfortable with backgrounds and drawing characters actually interacting. I think it was obvious in the fact that advent this year ended up being way more ambitious. These are two things I’ve been struggling with for a really long time, so measurable improvement in these areas are probably the highlights of the year. :>
Anyway, I’ll be at IKKiCON in Austin this weekend! First show of the year. Come see me!
